Thank you so much for performing at Croydon Hall for our very special Valentine’s Day Wedding.  As soon as the guests heard the band start playing the dance floor was full with very keen participants.  All the guests had a fantastic time - the Father of the Groom said it was the perfect wedding entertainment. ! Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio - Amanda's 60th Birthday Ceilidh - December 2025

 

Black Velvet Ceilidh Trio played at a ceilidh to celebrate my 60th birthday.  It was actually the fourth time they have played at events for my family over the last ten years, and I'm hoping to have them again in future.

 

It was a wonderful afternoon. The band's music was cheery and infectious and soon got people dancing enthusiastically, including guests aged from five to 85 and those who had previously warned me that they wouldn't  be able to dance because of knee problems!

 

Phil is a fantastic dance caller who makes ceilidh dancing easy and a pleasure even for those who have never done it before. We all really appreciated his clear instructions about each dance. This, together with Black Velvet's expert musicianship made the ceilidh very enjoyable and huge fun.

 

I can't wait to do it again! Thanks so much.

Such a wonderful band, and would definitely have them again. Everyone enjoyed the dancing even if they were just watching. Even my husband who never dances joined in and is now a ceilidh addict. 10/10! Highly recommend!

Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio were brilliant at our son’s wedding.

 

They arrived promptly, set up without any fuss, played two brilliant sets , were very generous with their time and got everyone dancing. Mike called the dances clearly and gave people chance to have a quick practice. Mike encouraged everyone and the dance floor never emptied.

 

The band really helped make the wedding very special.

Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Stephen's 80th Birthday Ceilidh – August 2025

 

My birthday ceilidh was extremely enjoyable and the band played a large part in setting and sustaining a lively and very jolly atmosphere!

 

It certainly wasn't hard to get people on their feet and dancing and Alan's calling was clear and simple enough to follow, though, of course, not everyone managed to do so absolutely all the time. A great and memorable evening. Many thanks to Black Velvet!

Black Velvet Band Irish Trio – Cheltenham Gold Cup – March 2025

 

Absolutely brilliant band – everybody loved them!

 

We booked the band to play at The Three Lions, Stourport-on-Severn on Gold Cup Day 2025 and didn’t regret the decision. They came in set up and started playing straight away and immediately the dance floor was full. We were turning people away at the door as the pub was full to the brim! They played to the crowd and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves as well.

Black Velvet Band Scottish Ceilidh Trio /  Burns Night Ceilidh / January 2025

 

This is the 3rd year we have had the pleasure of Black Velvet Band providing our entertainment for Burns Night. Once again it was an absolutely fantastic night had by all, with everyone thoroughly enjoying the dancing. Great explanations throughout and lots of fun. Will definitely be booking again for next year.
