Along with the two musicians, the band includes a dance-caller who will walk you through the dances and call the moves when the music strikes up. Don’t worry if you’ve never danced before - the caller will start with easy dances and will make sure that you don't end up in too much of a tangle!

We hired the Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio for my 50th birthday and absolutely loved it. Everyone joined in with the dancing and all the dances were explained really well so it was easy to involve everyone - even the children!
It was during the immense heatwave that we had in May but this didn’t stop us or the band from having a lot of fun! Thank you so much for an amazing day. We would definitely hire them again.

We enjoyed having Black Velvet at our wedding party to play two sets of Ceilidh dancing. The guests thoroughly enjoyed dancing to the music after being taught the dances. Even our four year niece joined in with some of the dancing! The band were prompt to set up and we enjoyed the live music.
