Black Velvet Ceilidh Band brings together some of the best folk musicians and dance callers in Bristol and the South West to provide a brilliant music and dance experience that is not only uplifting but also great fun! From large public events to family parties - weddings, birthdays, anniversaries or fund raisers - Black Velvet Band can tailor the band to suit.
Band members are seasoned professional musicians, all veterans of the festival circuit, performing over the years with bands such as “Spiro”, “Stackridge” and “Belshazar's Feast”. Led by virtuoso fiddle player, Mike Evans, the band includes accordion, guitar, melodeon and bodhran in the line-up. Whether it's a Scottish ceilidh, a barn dance, a hoedown, an Irish ceili, a mix of Irish songs and tunes - or even Gypsy Jazz the band's professional musicians match the music to the style.
